THE KING OF COOL
AFTER WW2... Young men returned to society from the battlefield, and were keen on customization culture, especially the motorcycle riding culture known as HOT-RIDER. This served both for competition and as an expression of individual personality.
The motorcycle racing scene peaked in the 1950s and 1960s. Besides leather riding gear, lighter waxed cotton clothing, which was more waterproof and breathable, was also highly favored. The Internacional is the quintessential example of this style. While it had competitors, it remains the most famous model to this day.
The most iconic features of this jacket are the waist belt, the short hem, and the angled chest "Whisky Pocket".
Our protagonist, THE KING OF COOL Steve McQueen, wore this exact version during the 1964 ISDT competition. Furthermore, Che Guevara wore its sibling model, the Trialmaster, while crossing South America before the revolution.
Because this jacket has created so many legendary stories, it continues to be highly revered today.
