二次世界大戰期間，恰逢原料短缺，因而捨棄了原本的丹寧布料，改用縮率較小的棉布帆布，同時間發了三款的訓服，但官方始終沒有替他們取名字，僅用年代的縮寫命名，分別為p41 p42 p44 三款最大的共通點是 均使用 Herringbone Twill 布料製作，現今我們皆以縮寫HBT來稱呼他。

Herringbone Twil 又稱鯡魚骨布，因為布料中有V字紋路相疊，而華人通常都稱他為人字紋。
